Don’t Let Too Much Sugar Ruin Christmas

If you’ve been trying your best to eat healthy and avoid too many sweets lately, you may well decide you’ve been good for so long that it’s time to treat yourself during the holidays. While the holidays are certainly the perfect time of year to let yourself indulge in some sweets, you may want to be careful if your system isn’t used to regularly eating that much sugar. If your body sometimes reacts poorly to too much sugar, be careful on Christmas.

The middle of a holiday party with the family is a really bad time to begin to not feel well because of overindulging on rich foods. Know what your system can handle and pace yourself. Eating too many sweets will cause your blood sugar to spike and then may leave you feeling very tired and lethargic, or may even upset your stomach. Better to stick to healthier foods throughout the day and save your sweet tooth for after dinner. You’ll be full and likely to eat fewer sweets, and you’ll also be able to wrap up the holiday night with a delicious treat.

  1. I think it’s really messed up that you guys post a picture of a DELICIOUS BROWNIE while you tell me not to eat too many holiday sweets. Not cool.

  2. Oh yeah… I’ve made this mistake before. Bad News Bears.
