If You Eat It, Write It Down

If you’ve begun trying to eat better in the New Year, or if you’re a very healthy person who likes to keep track of what you put in your body, keeping a food journal can be great idea. A food journal is pretty self-explanatory – you write down every single thing you eat during the day, how much of it you ate and when you ate it.

Many people who are trying to lose weight or are just trying to eat a more healthy diet find that they are almost unaware of all of the empty calories they’re consuming throughout the day until they see it in black and white. A food journal can help you identify your bad habits and clearly spot your patterns with food. Do you snack late at night? Do you eat after or during times of stress? A journal can help you answer all of these questions. Writing down amounts can be hugely helpful as well. You may well find places where you can easily cut extra calories from your diet and lose weight or get healthier without even feeling as though you’re sacrificing much at all.

i’ve started keeping a food log, it helps so much to piece together all of those little snacks that’s i wasn’t mentally counting!
